Bad Luck Club
I have a couple of pieces in an all-girl group exhibition opening tonight at Myplasticheart in the Lower East Side, NYC. The name of the show is Bad Luck Club, and it is curated by the amazing Aya Kakeda. Here’s a small write-up on my pieces. The opening will go from 6-9pm with an afterparty to follow. Art of Science / NYT / HHMI
I’m participating in an upcoming book called The Art of Science, a collaboration between artists and scientists. Each artist was given a scientific blurb to illustrate - mine was “What controls rain?” Huge thanks to Julia Rothman for the invite. It’s being released next fall, published by Chronicle Books. NEW STUDIO
I finally broke down and moved into the Pencil Factory. So far, it’s been great. Not only do I love the space, but I am also surrounded by an amazing group of people and all the water I can drink. Life improvement, check.
Summer's over, back to Tumbling
Some bits and pieces. Yesterday I did some quick lettering work for the nice folks at YCN, to be included in an animation pitch for NSPCC. The theme of the project was “bullying”, and they needed some harsh words illustrated in context. See below! Thanks to Nick Defty, this was great lettering practice for me.
